International Placement Scheme for 2026

 As an Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP student, you are eligible to apply for a funded fellowship at an international institution.

Fellowships are available at:

  • USA: Harry Ransom Center, Huntington Library, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution, Yale Centre for British Art
  • Japan: National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU)
  • China: Shanghai Theatre Academy

Opening date for applications is 7 January 2026, the final UKRI deadline for applications is 4pm on Thursday 19 March 2026.

Your university will have its own internal deadline ahead of this. Please check below for any institution-specific guidance.

If you will be submitting an application, please could you notify the Humanities Scholarship Officer, by emailing ahrc@admin.ox.ac.uk, by the end of January 2026.

Please also confirm which institution you will be applying to.

To allow sufficient time for the final University approvals process prior to the final deadline of 19 March, please submit your application a week earlier than this, by 12 March 2026.
