I’m studying for a DPhil in English at Magdalen College, Oxford. My research explores how the Íslendingasögur – pseudo-naturalistic tales about the lives of Iceland’s first Norwegian settlers – engage with the island’s often-hostile natural environment.
I completed a BA in English at King’s College London in 2020, and an MSt in English (650-1550) at Merton College, Oxford in 2021. Before starting my DPhil, I spent three years at the Times Literary Supplement.
My DPhil is supervised by Dr Siân Grønlie and co-funded by the AHRC, the Clarendon Fund and Magdalen College.
