Ina Jäntgen

Ina is a doctoral candidate in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, working with Professor Alexander Bird and Professor Jacob Stegenga (Department of History and Philosophy of Science). Her main research interests lie in philosophy of science, with a focus on general philosophy of science as well as philosophy of the biomedical and social sciences. She also has research interests in (formal) epistemology and decision theory. Her doctoral research focuses on statistical measures of effect sizes, how they relate to causal strength and whether and how measuring effect sizes matters for rational decision-making in applied contexts. Before starting her PhD, she completed a Research Master's in Philosophy and Economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, both from the University of Freiburg.
