Lily Stone is a PhD researcher in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Her doctoral research is interdisciplinary and focuses on the pedagogy of tactile picture books designed for children with vision impairments. Through multiple case studies, Lily explores the practices and assumptions involved in the production and dissemination of tactile picture books, and is interested in the understandings of childhood and disability that they illuminate.
Lily received a first class degree in Modern and Medieval Languages from Cambridge in 2020, and went on to complete an MPhil in Arts, Creativity and Education at Cambridge with distinction in 2021, focusing on understandings of touch through a collaborative arts project.
