My research looks at the poetics of wisdom discourse in the Hebrew Bible and the texts of Second Temple Judaism. I am particularly interested in how authors conceptualized different modes of knowledge and wisdom and acquisition thereof, how these ideas coincide with perceptions of human agency, and how metaphors function within these dialogues.
I hail from the USA where I completed a BA in Bible & Theology (Malone University) and a dual MA in Biblical Languages and Hebrew Bible (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary). I then came to Oxford for the MSt in Classical Hebrew Studies (AMES; distinction).
My DPhil project is supervised by Professor Hindy Najman and co-funded through the generosity of the AHRC in conjunction with St. John’s College and the Clarendon Fund.
