Anna’s project, titled ‘Contemporary Italian Literature in the UK and the US: Translation and Interaction’, explores the role of leading translators of Italian literature into English in the second half of the 20th century, under the supervision of Professor Matthew Reynolds.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, Anna organised the conference ‘Fictions of Retranslations: Retranslating Language and Style in Prose Fiction’ (11-12 March 2021), with Rowan Anderson (2019 cohort). She has presented her research at various international conferences (at the University of Cambridge, Padova, London, Edinburgh, Leuven, Utrecht), and published papers on genetic translation studies, self-translation, and heteroglossia (you can find a full list at https://oxford.academia.edu/AnnaSaroldi).
