I completed my BA in Classics and MPhil in Greek History at Balliol College, Oxford. I am now at Trinity College, Oxford to pursue the DPhil in Ancient History. My project focuses on Ionia in the Hellenistic period, approaching the region from various historical perspective: geographical, economic, and political. I seek to examine how Ionia, as a geographically bounded space and a cultural area, was articulated in this period of high political fragmentation, broadened local horizons, and politico-cultural experimentation.
My supervisor is Professor Peter Thonemann. My project is supported by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP, the Clarendon Fund, and the Max Beloff Graduate Scholarship (Trinity College).
My other research interests include Greek and Latin epigraphy, Greek numismatics, ancient historiography, historical geography, and Anatolia studies, including Anatolian languages. I have been President of the Oxford University Numismatic Society and co-convened the Ancient History Graduate Works-in-Progress Seminar. To facilitate my research on ancient Anatolia, I am learning Turkish.
