I am in the first year of a DPhil in Philosophy. My thesis project is focused on reconstructing and evaluating the thought of the great philosopher (and economist, and mathematician) Frank Ramsey. It thus concerns both the history of philosophy--Ramsey, Wittgenstein, and various major figures in the history of philosophy and pragmatism--and the logic and metaphysics of philosophical pragmatism(s).
Before the DPhil, I was at the University of Cambridge for my undergraduate and MPhil courses in Philosophy. Besides my DPhil project, I also have interests in (the philosophy of) mathematics, logic, and political philosophy.
I am grateful to be funded by the AHRC and St John's College, and to be supervised by Professors Adrian Moore and Bill Child. You can reach me at james.glover@sjc.ox.ac.uk or james.glover@philosophy.ox.ac.uk.
