I am a DPhil candidate at Magdalen College, Oxford, researching the creation of disastrous futures in contemporary works of fiction from the Southern Cone. Under the guidance of Dr. Olivia Vazquez-Medina, I examine the interplay between catastrophe, territory, and the body, focusing on how these narratives elaborate on forms of precarity inherent to our time. Alongside the AHRC OOC studentship, I have been awarded funding from the Clarendon Fund. I hold an MA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Zurich, and I have recently completed an MPhil in Modern Languages at Oxford, where I examined the representation of water-related catastrophes in contemporary Argentinian speculative fiction. My research interests include memory studies, new materialism(s) and waste studies, the Anthropocene, and environmental Humanities.
