I previously studied at the University of Brighton (BA Fine Art, First Class Hons) and the Royal College of Art (MA Fine Art Sculpture, Distinction). My Doctoral research at the Ruskin School of Art and Exeter College, Oxford, is a practice-based Fine Art project focused on representations of kinship. The project is grounded in a study of early colonial history in Aotearoa New Zealand and explores relatedness as an ecological concept key to establishing modes of living together that are more sustainable. Resulting in the production of a series of new artworks- sculpture, performance and video- alongside a written thesis, the research will explore myth, fiction and memory as a means to envisage new kinship relationships in the context of colonial history, globalization and climate change.
