Rachel Darby

I am a DPhil student in Political Theory at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, working within intellectual history. In my research, I ask: What does it mean to tell a history of feminism in a feminist way? I consider cases from history to open out new questions for political theorists about how feminists have told, complicated, and obscured their own history, and about how our tools of memorialisation might be shifted in order to create a feminist historical practice whose methods and outcomes are truly emancipatory. I have secondary research interests in governmental accountability. As part of this, I am a research assistant at the Blavatnik School of Government. My doctoral research is co-funded by the Clarendon Association. Prior to the DPhil, I completed an MPhil in Political Theory at Keble College, Oxford and a BSc in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at University College London.
