Samantha J. Pay

Samantha Jane Pay is a doctoral student at the Oxford Internet Institute and a specialist in violence against women and girls policy and practice. Her research is seated in a feminist phenomenological analysis and focuses on the the concept of an ‘algorithmic female’ and personalisation technology for TV. Sam is also interested in developing innovative research methods. Sam’s professional background also includes working as a multidisciplinary therapist particularly with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, as well as experience working in the film and TV industry. Sam is in the process of founding ‘Code United’ - a digital self defence venture primarily for victims of domestic and sexual cyberviolence.
