Sophie is a DPhil student at Worcester College Oxford. Her research is focused upon the history of reading practices in the seventeenth century with a focus upon the Library at Lanhydrock House in Cornwall. Here, she analyses the marginal comments and signs of ‘book use’ left by the libraries' seventeenth century owners, Lord John Robartes and Hannibal Gammon, and uses this to make judgements as to their political, religious and intellectual commitments.
